Hello Everyone, i recently found out about this hackintosh scene and i think it is great. Ive been lurking these boards for a while and just recently made my account.

The issue that im having is that once i insert my iboot cd it loads fine i swap it with my snow leopard and press f5 but snow leopard shows up and i can get to the menu by presing down arrow but it wont show my snow leopard.

Im not to sure what to do if someone would help me that would be great.

UPDATE:

I got the f5 to work but i seem to be getting issues when i press it. It does like a motherboard error then it goes back to the main screen but, it acknowledges that it loaded osx. i then press enter and to goes to the apple screen, once there it keeps on spinning then a "no entry" sign shows up or a cross i guess you could call it. This shows up a little over the apple sign.

any tips?

Try the verbose mode to get what it's doing, Mine says it's stuck searching for main root device.

Yeah I'm having the same exact problem. I've done some research but a lot of the language in these forums is foreign to me. I also have a gigabyte mobo, and what one of the guys here was telling me was that my graphics card wasn't compatible; apparently that's a big part of compatibility. I just bought a gigabyte geforce 8400gs for 30 bucks, lets hope it works. I've seen a lot of people using the 8400gs but i didn't realize that there were multiple manufacturers of the same type of card, and that its possible certain versions of the card could give problems. We'll see when it gets here. What graphics card do you have?

Note: The retail DVD has a Snow Leopard on it.
