Hey Guys,

i`m just trying to get MacOSX Snow Leopard running on my Packard Bell Easynote LJ75.
After booting with iBoot and changing the Disc to the Retail DVD and after hitting F5 and starting the Disc (hitting Enter), i get an error saying:

"Memory allocation error! Addr=0xdeadbeef, Size=0x0, File=ati.c, Line=668
This is a non recoverable error! System HALTED!!! "

I don't even get to the Installation Screen. Anybody knows what to do?

My System:

Laptop Packard Bell Easynote LJ75

CPU: Intel-Core i3-330M
Memory: 4GB (2x2GB)
Graphic: ATI Mobility Radeon HD 5650 , 1GB DDR3 128 bit, PCIe
Hard Drive: Hitachi HTS545050B9A, 2,5", 500GB, 5400rpm, SATA (ACHI-Mode switched on in BIOS)

Thanks for your help!

Try in boot "maxmem=4048" without quotes, but i'm not sure if is this the error.

Yeah all right. After typing "maxmem=4048" i got a black screen and heard the DVD rotating and working. After a couple of minutes i got an other Error. Now it says:

"Memory allocation Error! Addr=0x0, Size=0xec0b020, File=device_inject.c, Line=220
This is a non recoverable error! System HALTED!!!"

So its just the same error (Memory Allocation Error) but with an other Address, other Size, other File and other Line. Anybody knows what to do?

Greets!

I've got exactly the same problem.

I've tried running it in safe mode, but that doesn't work either.

I'm using iboot 2.6 when i get the error, but the older version used to work ok (still had to use safe mode as my lappy has ati 2600) but i could still get it installed.

Any ideas???
Thanks

I'm having the same problem

HP Compaq 6910p, refusing to get to the install screen after launching the osx disc.

I have a feeling it is related to the mobility X2300 graphics as from what ive heard they are fairly troublesome, maybe from sharing memory.

I'm not jumping to conclusions as I have 160gb ntfs(win7), 60gb ntfs(pre-journaled for osx) and a 20gb fat32 (for both to share) partitions throwing potential complications into my install but am trying to help shed some light on this problem

After receiving this error message, retarting and launching win7 shows that my touchpad and other device drivers have been reset, most notably the graphics have reset to a primitive resolution.

I would explore more options with different installers but have limited Internet access so would appreciate any help/advice available!

I;ve no idea if iBoot is using GraphicsEnabler, but in case it is, try adding (typing) this at the Chameleon boot screen after selected OSX DVD but before hitting enter:
GraphicsEnabler=No

Nice one, GraphicsEnabler=No works great and gets through to the loading screen.

Thanks heaps.

Hi. My last post go deleted because I guess I was not using a Snow Leopard DVD. I have since purchased a Snow Leopard DVD. I still have yet to have been able to install an AHCI drivers. Is this absolutely needed in order to install OS X on my laptop. I am trying to install Snow Leopard on a Dell Inspiron 6000 laptop. I keep getting the same memory allocation error the OP stated. I tried the different boot commands as well. Neither -x or PCIRootUID=1 did anything. When I type in the GraphicsEnabler=No It does take me to the OS X boot screen but it just loads and loads, and eventually hangs there then a circle with a line through it pops up and it sits there forever. Don't mean to hijack this thread, just have some additional questions.
