Hey guys, first of all, tkvm to tony and all the bloggers who help me with osX.

I have 10.6.4 fully working on my compaq,
Intel t4200 2.0ghz, 4gb ram ddr2.
intel 4500hd graphics working as 3100 (i found a patch and it works quite well, tho only 128mb of ram goes to video, res is 1280x600x32 as default, and i have many other low res options too)
Sound works, but volume is always the same (¿?)
dvd works perfect, it burns and all the stuff.
All usb ports are functional, i`ve tested everything, from mouse, hds, and iphones. Even my dedicated buttons for enabling wifi and bluetooth works!
SD cards working too
Ethernet detected but sais cable unplugged, i saw this in many forums, but due my lack of cable, i just left it that way...yet.
wifi working, i used wifinjetor.kext from kexts.com

I keep all the kexts, and some notes of my journey, so if u happen to have a compaq or some similar hardware, and u need some help, send me a pm, and i would love to help if i can

The only thing i cant manage to do, is to open pictures....
i see the thumbnails in the icons, in iphoto, but when i want to open the file in full screen, iphoto does nothing, preview just displays the gray background, and sometimes it crashes.

Can someone help my with this wierdo picture issue? im opening pics on my browser,,,lol

Any and all information would be appreciated m4kiav3lo. I'm about to start this process on a similarly specced cq61 and would like to stand on the shoulders of any available giants.


Out of interest, how does the cq40 trackpad work on osx? From photos it looks the same as the cq61s, which i find to be a bit of a nightmare on windows.

the trackpad works from ground 0, once u are in the mac os x install process it will be the only thing working, or at least that`s what happened to me, cos my usb ports where dead. u wont have the tap to click option or the slide to scroll on the right feature, cos it will be a plain usb mouse for the system.

I havent found a kext or a way to make ir work properly, but i use an usb mouse all the time so i rly dont care that much anyway

after i finished the multibeast step, i only had to add a few kexts:

-voodoobattery.kext
-Broadcomwifiinjector.kext
-appleintelgmax3100fb.kext
-appleintelgmax3100.kext

The last 2 are a trick to make my 4500 intel hd graphic chip work as a 3100 one, wich aint the best thing around but it´s way better than nothing
